If you would like to volunteer at the Vermont Fairy Tale Festival, send an email to director@sherburnelibrary.org. All volunteers must be vetted to work with children.
Volunteer duties include:
- Helping set up tents the day before and the morning of the event
- Helping to take down tents at 4pm on the day of event
- Helping libraries and vendors move their items from their cars to the festival grounds
- Setting up the grounds with props, tables, chairs, plants, trash bins, etc.
- Setting up signage along the road and throughout the grounds
- Helping stage the scavenger hunts
- Checking in with libraries and vendors to give them water or allow them to go get lunch and take a break
- Taking food and humane society donations at the castle
- Handing out free books and maintaining book carts
- Running errands
- Relieving library staff for breaks
- Helping set up and/or working in the Enchanted Forest
- Setting up and managing storywalks on the grounds
- Tending the Fairy Tale Village in the library gardens
- Helping with the Vikings
- Helping with parking
- PR and publicity
- Putting up posters around the state
- And a thousand other small jobs during the day, as well as before and after the event.
